Robot Dreams
is a graphic children’s book (no words) about new friends Dog and Robot, who are separated after a single glorious Labor Day on the beach. Dog tries to find other friends to fill the gap left by Robot. And Robot dreams of escaping his rusty predicament and being reunited with Dog. In the end- well, no spoilers here- let’s just leave it that the story’s final scene is poignant, sophisticated, and affirming all at once. Varon’s Robot Dreams is a wonderfully entertaining story as well as a great starting point to talk about friendships, new and old, with your little ones. Sara Varon’s fun website is here.
