World’s Tiniest Model Train

October 26, 2009 - 1:52 pm

This model train is so small that it was even blurry when filmed with super-macro. What a great way to get your model train kicks no matter where you are. I think this would be something like ZZZ scale.

The Obsolescing of Training Wheels

October 8, 2009 - 10:56 am

This looks like a great concept and a high-tech way of avoiding training wheels. The Gyrowheel has a disk that spins inside, creating a stabilizing effect due to  ”gyroscopic precession.” It’s a cool concept that makes sense – though I haven’t tested this myself. Available online in the US in December through their website. Didn’t see any details about pricing though.

This video of this 5-year-old learning to ride her bike in half an hour is pretty convincing. (via: The Awesomer)

Pinewood derby for adults

September 1, 2009 - 4:14 pm

Considering that I never made it past the first round of my Pinewood Derby back in 19ehem, maybe there’s still hope to fulfill (shatter again) those dreams. If only my dad will come and watch with a look of total disappointment, that would complete the whole experience.

While technically not really a dad-specific item, we just love the rugged and clever look of this.

Expedition Trolley

August 3, 2009 - 12:41 pm

This is what happens when a Jeep Cherokee meets a red wagon. This is one tough and cool looking wagon. And looks reasonably comfortable for when the kiddies want to pull you around.

Madsen Cycles – When the kids outgrow the Taga.

July 23, 2009 - 8:10 am

Madsen Cargo Bikes have these large buckets with seating and seat belts on the back. Unfortunately, I don’t think this is going to fit in my apartment building’s bike room (I know, I’m lucky to have one). But if it did. I’d be all over this as a green kid transportation vehicle.

Little Tikes Cozy Coup outsells any other car.

457,000 of these little suckers were sold in 2008. That’s a whole lot of molded plastic being churned out at a rate of one car per minute. At least it gets good mileage. Earlier this month, the toy car was inducted into  the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum in Cleveland.

Robotic baby mover arounder.

b9vfl4b63oa0gwp5pw4whjaeo1_400The perfect movable command chair for your little Dr. Evil. It’s supposed to avoid obstacles automatically. Suuure, it does. From what I can tell that steering wheel works. But where’s the brake daddy? Look how much from that kid is having as he plots global domination.
